Packing a Good Lunch Box Aug. 14, 2012, 1 p.m.

Now, before you think we’re about to get rude, and start talking about the size of your, *coughs*, manhood, we’re talking food-stuffs. We knew the title would grab your attention. Getting back on track, we thought it might be helpful if we gave you a few tips on lunch time nibbles. It can be expensive buying out everyday at work, noting that the pounds really do add up. When it comes to taking lunch in, it can become very boring if you stick to the same cheese & pickle sarnie day in day out. We’ve got some fun ideas to really perk up your packed lunch.

Firstly, let’s discuss the field of tupperware, sandwich bags and all the appropriate equipment that is needed to make your lunch portable. These are essential for transporting your salads, soups and sarnies to work. Invest in some sealed, clip tight containers for safety when on the move. No-one wants a spillage on their important docs. Plus, with more money saved on spending in the day time, you’ve got more cash to flash in the evenings. Like, for instance, booking some time to spend in the company of one of the delightful escorts London has to offer.

So, what can you make at home the night before, that will be perfect for your lunchtime break? See our suggestions below:

  • Cut up cucumber, celery and carrots along with some dip for a healthy snack.
  • You could warm some pita in the toaster at work for dipping too.
  • Leftovers are great; add cold meat or vegetables to a salad.
  • Jazz up your salads by sprinkling croutons, pine nuts and olives.
  • Make a batch of homemade dressing and keep in a bottle in the fridge; it tastes great and saves pennies.
  • Couscous is delicious, and is so simple to make tasty. Add spices, seeds and salad ingredients to make it all the more flavoursome.
  • Take a jacket potato in with your chosen topping. Make the topping mix at home and cook in the office microwave. Filling and yummy.
  • Cold pasta salad with tomatoes, herbs and olives.
  • Homemade or shop bought soup with crackers or bread.
  • Easy wraps - fill them with meats, salads or leftovers. You choose.
  • Homemade fruit salads are great too. You could use frozen fruits to save a bob or two.
  • If you’re feeling experimental, then why not try adding some raw veg and noodles with a bit of dry spice and a stock cube to a tupperware container. Once you're at work, just add boiling water and you have yourself a noodle veg soup.
  • Of course, you can add leftover meats, salads and preferences to anything you like, even between two bits of bread to make your ultimate sandwich. After all, sarnies are the lunchtime custom.
